Should i buy or rent?

When it comes to musical instruments, that’s the question isn’t it? Should I buy the instrument, or should I rent it?

If you are looking for an instrument for your child, I would DEFINITELY recommend renting; especially if they are younger or just beginning. Instruments can be expensive and you can never really be sure that they will stick with it. Who knows, maybe they will want to switch instruments. You can also get some pretty high quality instruments- student model of course- through various rental programs.

Then on the other hand, maybe you really don’t want to deal with paying the rental fees every month or whatever the contract stipulates. Maybe you would just rather buy the instrument outright and call it a day. You have a couple of options here. You can buy a brand new, untouched instrument; or you can buy a used instrument.

With a brand new instrument, you pretty much know what you are getting. You just have to do your research and make sure that they are a reputable instrument maker, company or retailer.

With buying a used instrument, it’s just like buying a used car. You may hve to take it to an instrument repair specialist before you make the purchase.
